Mariabelle fantasizes about having children with Hinata while helping Sakura babysit her infant cousin.
Episode 6 — “Parenting”
Meh.
You can tell when an anime reaches halfway through the season. An episode’s plot feels like a side story, where nothing happens to advance the overall story, and production values take a nosedive. All these conditions happened in Yandere Dark Elf, episode 6. Elias, the animation studio responsible for this mash, irresponsibly ruined Sakura’s face. Her eyes were so wide apart that she almost resembled a hammerhead shark. Then, portions of this episode had no animation at all, substituting pan-and-scan of static images for visual motion. And dropping a baby into Mariabelle’s lap was the episode’s only plot point.
Still, Yandere Dark Elf had three notable elements derived from a day of babysitting that made the episode worth watching.
We saw how well dark elf nipples act as pacifiers. Very educational.
Mariabelle’s empathic skills make her the perfect baby whisperer! Mothers usually need to spend time with their infants to understand what their different verbal noises mean, so a dark elf has advantages over human babysitters.
We learned that Mariabelle has a beautiful singing voice. The sound editing and musical score for Yandere Dark Elf were never impressive. But we can credit Mariabelle’s voice actor, Minami Takahashi (Konomi Baba from The Idolmaster Million Live), for supplying a bright note to an otherwise uninspired effort.
Oh, and we should remember that Yandere Dark Elf still presented the required fanservice for baby-making jokes. MILFs, breastfeeding, broods of children, and a dark elf’s impatience for nakadashi. Hinata said the line, “Her love is heavy,” as he does every episode.
Geh.
Whose baby is that, and why does it look like Hinata? Oho. Mariabelle asks Hinata if he wants “another one?” Did we have a time skip? Oh. It’s one of the dark elf’s sexual dreams. Uh oh. What did she wake up to? Why are Sakura and Hinata carrying a baby? Somebody will die! Oof. Sakura’s face is off its character spec. The B Team from Elias took over this throwaway episode. It’s been a while since Mariabelle had a jealous dark magic outburst.
Heh.
Ah. Sakura has Natsuki, her baby cousin, with her because she’s babysitting for her aunt and uncle. Hoho. Mariabelle likes it when a baby calls her “mama.” Ooh, neat. Mariabelle can use her dark elf empathic skills to read a baby’s mind. See Yandere Dark Elf, episode 2, for details. Natsuki-chan is hungry and needs a pacifier. Here’s a dark elf nipple to tide you over! Hinata can have the other one while Sakura gets a baby bottle. Oops. Sakura saw Hinata’s temptation.
The baby drank her milk bottle and wanted to play afterward. A stroll around the neighborhood makes Mariabelle jealous when all the old ladies think Hinata and Sakura are young parents. Changing diapers is an adventure for Yandere Dark Elf. At least it gave Sakura an excuse for a shower scene. And more maternal scenes. Hoho! And paternal scenes! Both Sakura and Mariabelle fantasize about Hinata being the father of their babies.
Aw. Natsuki and Mariabelle became friends. But now it’s time for Mariabelle and Hinata to make babies of their own! First, baby play. Suckle on those teats, Hinata! Har. Hinata stopped Mariabelle with a pacifier. Of course, that scene gave Sakura the wrong idea.
